Parkour project commissioned by local government

City of Westminster
A project commissioned by London Westminster council sees thermal imaging being used to capture how traceurs interact with their surroundings in search of finding new ways through the environment.

This project has been ground-breaking in many ways as it opens up doors with local councils who, up until only a few years ago, have been very opposed to supporting parkour.

"The Politics of dancing, the politics of ooo feeling good!"

Parkour.NET
It seems the politics shall continue within Parkour. There is official notice of Parkour.NET shutting down due to David Belle (and more specifically his brother Jean-Francois) deciding that the word Parkour is protected by the Belle family and therefor the .NET website now belongs to David rather than Jerome. (Who's been the cornerstone of the site for a number of years now and done nothing more than do his best to help the global community through keeping it open)

Also there are other issue regarding connections between the Belle family and the Yamakasi, etc etc .. ad nauseum. (We've heard it all before with Joss and the Pawa group trying to own Parkour...)

I am soo glad the Parkour South Africa community is just trucking along and taking all of the European issues with a huge bag of salt and a big stick of biltong!

Keep training guys and remember to have fun. ;-)

Here is the official statement from Jerome:
"
Parkour.NET is closed, I'm going explain the reasons without commenting them.

Jean-François Belle called me today, Friday 13th, at 18:32 precisely to tell me:
- I (Jerome Lebret, owner and accountable of the domain parkour.net) have to stop associating David Belle and his family to the Yamakasi. Apparently there are some issues with them.
- I have to remove everything concerning David Belle and its family from the website
- I will receive a formal notice of complaint
- The word "Parkour" is protected. They want the domain name "parkour.net"
- David agrees with all above

Just after writing this message, I sent a message (SMS) to Jean-François Belle and David Belle saying that if they had something to say to the community it was the right time, because I would publish their explanations on the website. We shall see if they use of this opportunity or not.

Feel free to contact me by mail @ webmaster@parkour.net to give me comments, ideas etc.

I close the website.

Jerome Lebret, webmaster of Parkour.NET
